Hello! I’m Kyleen.

A very warm welcome to Lactation Connect, a consulting business to educate, guide and support expecting and new mothers on their own very personal breastfeeding and parenting journey.

Having had the absolute pleasure and privilege of supporting new mothers in those all-important early days post birth for over 12 years, I was continually met with the same concerns on a daily basis regardless if it was a mothers first, third or fifth baby.

These concerns were frequently centred around breastfeeding and cry-fuss behaviours; more specifically, conflicting information from a number of sources, coupled with what mothers felt was a lack of appropriate education available during pregnancy and adequate breastfeeding and parenting support upon arriving home from hospital.

As a mother myself, who has experienced these exact complaints, I realised that expanding my knowledge was vital in extending the support I was providing for mothers and their babies.

I developed a deep interest in the science and management of lactation and lactation care and strive to provide a level of support to new mothers that educates, empowers and fosters belief in themselves that their breastfeeding goals are achievable, effective and sustainable.

Furthermore, as an accredited Neurodevelopmental Care Practitioner, can assist families to improve infant sleep while supporting this crucial period of neurodevelopment in the infant’s life by educating parents to support their infant’s sleep using a gentle approach that directly supports responsive parenting.
